Classroom Management Plan
Philosophy:
My teaching philosophy is a mixture of Progressivism and Existentialism. This influenced my selection of strategies for level one because both philosophies focus on the individual child. I believe that how a child feels in their environment is just as important, if not more important, than what they learn there. In the recovery level I discuss giving students the choice to do the right thing. Both Progressivisms and Existentialist believe that children learn best by making their own choices. My teaching philosophies influenced my choices for life skills because both believe in the child learning by doing and finding ways to solve their own problems in the way that they see fit. In level four I discuss students receiving help from counselors and other staff members because part of my teaching philosophy is that schools should revolve around students. Staff should always make sure that they are available to help students. In level five I discuss ways to support students by getting to know them and making myself available to help them. This allows me to support my students as individuals and help them to make positive choices.
